The Israelites were made captive slaves to the Egyptians.
When Moses led them away, they went into to the desert, where they had no food.
Then manna appeared, which they could eat. It’s sometimes said that it tasted sweet.
The Israelites deserted the Egyptians into the desert, where they found a food that tasted sweet like dessert, called manna. And God fed the Israelites in that manner.
